Port Hood Newsmakers at the Chestico Museum

During the past year a number of Port Hood people have been newsmakers in the provincial papers, National Geographic magazine and on national television. The Chestico Museum will sponsor a series of Ceilidh evenings in June to hear the behind the scenes story from three of these newsmakers. Book Launch: “Cape Bretoners in the First World War”

On Thursday, August 28, 2014 Ronald Caplan, publisher of Breton Books, will be at the Chestico Museum to launch his latest work Cape Bretoners in the First World War: In Their Own Words. The book features rare interviews with survivors of World War One as well as diary entries, letters and news accounts of Cape Breton’s participation in the conflict.… (more…)

Downton Abbey Tea Party

This summer the Chestico Museum and Historical Society will host an afternoon Tea Party at Hillcrest Hall Country Inn in Port Hood.
