Storytellers Circle West

On Tuesday, October 13th the Chestico Museum hosted Storytellers Circle West at the museum.  The event was part of Celtic Colours Cultural Experiences series. Chestico Tartan Blanket Winner!

The winner of the Chestico Tartan Blanket was drawn at the Historical Society’s regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 21. Our treasuer, Diana Hawley made the draw and this year’s lucky winner was Lorraine MacDonald of Port Hood.  Lorraine is a member of the Historical Society and was thrilled to receive the blanket!  In the photo on the left, you can see… (more…)

Next Event – WWII Slideshow

On Thursday, September 3rd at 7:30 PM, the Chestico Museum will present a narrated slideshow featuring WWII veterans from Port Hood. Admission is $5 for adults – children are admitted free.  Tea and refreshments will be served following the slideshow. We look forward to seeing you at the museum as we honour our veterans!

August 27 Ceilidh

The eighth and final ceilidh of the Chestico Museum’s summer ceilidh series was held at the museum on August 27th.  Entertaining were Dara Smith on fiddle, Pius MacIsaac on guitar, Hughie John Beaton on guitar and vocals and Sandy Gillis, Edgar Cormier and Gerard Walker, also on guitar and vocals.   A  good sized crowd was in an attendance and very much enjoyed… (more…)
