On Tuesday, October 13th the Chestico Museum hosted Storytellers Circle West at the museum. The event was part of Celtic Colours Cultural Experiences series.
A large crowd was on hand and a trio of talented storytellers provided an excellent afternoon of entertainment. Cape Breton storyteller Jim St. Clair had everyone singing along with the the fairies working song of “Sunday, Monday, Tuesday”, Newfoundlander Jim Payne had us in stitches with his story of “Jack and the Magic Punt” and in the middle of the storytelling Ireland’s Jimmy McBride was surpised by a latecomer to the museum. The gentleman was visiting Cape Breton from Ireland and was taken aback to see Jimmy – the two had gone to school together but had not seen each other for many years!
