Barbara Cameron was here with her guitar and treated us to a number of songs including a beautiful one about growing up on Port Hood Island.

July 24, 2014 Ceilidh

July 24, 2014 CeilidhThe fourth ceilidh of the Chestico Museum’s 2014 summer ceilidh series was held on July 24th and we had a great crowd in attendance.

Our fiddler for the evening was Stephanie MacDonald and she was accompanied by Cathy Hawley. They certainly had everyone tapping their toes with a great selection of tunes!

Hughie John Beaton was on hand as well and was in fine voice with such favourites as “The Four Marys” and “The Banks of Sicily”.

Our step dancer was unable to be with us, but we were pleased to welcome Emma Carrigan of Sabra MacGillivray’s Celtic Touch Dancers. Emma is very talented and even treated us to the Sword Dance!

Photos from the evening are posted on our Facebook page.
