July 3rd, 2014 Ceilidh, Panel Unveiling & Book Launch

The Chestico Museum’s 2014 summer ceilidh series kicked off on July 3rd. We had a big crowd in attendance (including a few Downton Abbey Tea ladies!) and they were treated to a fine show! First Ceilidh of 2014!

The first ceilidh of our 2014 summer ceilidh series will be Thursday, July 3rd at 7 PM at the museum. Chestico Museum Publishes Book!

The Chestico Museum has published Safe Harbour: A Brief History of Port Hood, Nova Scotia. The book is an 80 page richly illustrated history of the village/town of Port Hood from its establishment to the present day. It is made up of four sections: Pioneer Phase 1700-1850, Heyday Period 1850-1910, The Modern Century 1910 – Present and Port Hood Island.… (more…)

Downton Abbey Tea Party

This summer the Chestico Museum and Historical Society will host an afternoon Tea Party at Hillcrest Hall Country Inn in Port Hood. Chestico Museum Giant Yard Sale

The Chestico Museum will hold its annual Yard Sale on Saturday, July 12th in Port Hood at the Al MacInnis Sports Centre. This will occur during the Port Hood Lobster Picnic. If you wish to donate items, please call John Gillies 787-3441 or Colleen Macleod 787-2251. Items may be stored in advance of the sale, in John Gillies’ barn.
