July 22, 2010 Ceilidh

The third ceilidh in the Chestico Museum 2010 summer ceilidh series took place on July 22nd. Our entertainment for the evening were Maggie Beaton who is a very talented young fiddler, Mary Graham who played our newly tuned piano, Leah Gillies who treated us to a selection of piano tunes and Stanley MacNeil who gave us some great harmonica playing! Next Event: Home Children Presentation

In honour of 2010 being declared the Year of the British Home Child, the Chestico Museum will host a presentation and slideshow on Thursday, July 29 at 7:30. Our special guest presenter will be Cecil Verge, son-in-law of John Guest. Between 1869 and 1939 approximately 100,000 children came to Canada from Great Britain. July 15, 2010 Ceilidh

The second ceilidh in the Chestico Museum 2010 summer ceilidh series took place on July 15th. Our guests were treated to an incredible night of singing courtesy of the talented Marie Aucoin and Bill MacDonald.
