The Chestico Historical Society spent a lovely afternoon on Henry Island on Sunday, August 30, 2015. We were invited to the Island by Jeannemarie & Bill Baker as a thank you for the Society’s support of the Henry Island Lighthouse during the This Lighthouse Matters campaign. Miners Memorial Weekend – July 2011
The Chestico Museum and Historical Society has organized a weekend of activities to honour coal miners and our coal mining history. Port Hood is celebrating the 225th anniversary of its founding in 2011, and coal mining has been vital to our history. Weekend events will run from July 21 to July 24.
