The eighth and final ceilidh of the Chestico Museum’s summer ceilidh series was held at the museum on August 27th. Entertaining were Dara Smith on fiddle, Pius MacIsaac on guitar, Hughie John Beaton on guitar and vocals and Sandy Gillis, Edgar Cormier and Gerard Walker, also on guitar and vocals. A good sized crowd was in an attendance and very much enjoyed the evening. Indeed, the group joined in on many of the evenings songs!
And so our ceilidh series have come to an end for another year. The Chestico Museum wishes to thank all the performers who so generously donated their talents, the individuals who provided food for the lunch and all those who supported our ceilidhs through their attendance.
As well, we would remiss not to thank Marina MacIntyre who was our summer student for a second year. Marina organizes all our ceilidhs – from obtaining the talent and lunch to advertising the event and emceeing the show. Thank you Marina for all your hard work!
