The fourth ceilidh of the Chestico Museum’s summer ceilidh series took place at the museum on August 5th.
Hughie John Beaton was scheduled to perform but unfortunately had to cancel. However, we still had a great line up of entertainment!
Mike Hall was our fiddler for the evening and what a great player! He is a native of New Brunswick but was exposed to a variety of Cape Breton music in his youth. One of his major influences was Port Hood native Alex Lewis MacDonald whom he met at a young age.
Pius MacIsaac was also with us and he accompanied Mike on a number of tunes. Mike returned the favour by taking to the piano to accompany Pius!
We had singing as well from Jeannie Beks who treated us to a number of her own compositions.
It was a wonderful night of entertainment and our audience was most appreciative!
All three of our musicians have released cds and they are available in the Chestico Museum Gift Shop.
Below are some pictures from the evening. Enjoy!
